But in view of the almost 200 kilometers of perfectly groomed trails available in the SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser-Brixental, every cross-country skier’s heart is sure to leap for joy. The connection to the huge network of trails can be found just a few minutes from the Sporthotel Der Bär, where you can choose between the village trail, the Kaiser trail, and the connecting trail.
The sunny natural paradise at the foot of the Wilder Kaiser connects the four ‚Kaiser‘ villages of Going, Ellmau, Scheffau, and Söll and has 65 kilometers of tracked routes. In addition, the floodlit night trail in nearby Scheffau invites you to burn off energy every evening. Those who just want to enjoy some leisurely cross-country skiing will find not only beautiful conditions on the cozy village trail but also rustic refreshment stops that make every trip worthwhile. True „kilometer eaters,“ on the other hand, can extend their cross-country skiing distance to Aschau or Söll or get their pulse racing on some of the skating cross-country trails. Of course, many huts and inns are perfectly located along all the routes.
Racing Towards Fun – Tobogganing at the Sporthotel Der Bär
Tobogganing is a wonderful nature experience and perfectly rounds off any Tyrolean family holiday in Ellmau. Let the wind blow past your nose together with friends and family and give your winter holiday at the Sporthotel Der Bär the finishing touch on a sled. Via the Astbergbahn lift in nearby Going, you can comfortably get up to the start of the toboggan run and then whiz back down into the valley on the wide and well-groomed track. However, those who would like to sit on the sled a little longer and combine their tobogganing trip with a short tour can continue to the Brenneralm and via the Treichlhof to the Naschberg. From here, a medium-difficulty, family-friendly descent begins, which ends directly at the Hotel Der Bär after about 20 minutes.
